Where are all the photos ?

Urquhart Castle Loch Ness

Monster Photos ?

It's 2019 which means that Nessie has been large in the public limelight for 86 years now since April 1933 when Aldie Mackay saw'A whale like fish' and all we have to go on is a handful of blurry images most of which are known fakes and many which have no point of reference to prove they were even taken at Loch Ness.

Especially nowadays with the thousands of tourists armed with smart phones and digital cameras travelling up and down the Loch each year one would think that there would be at least a few indisputable images of Nessie taken and published by the worlds press.

One only has to take a drive from Fort Augustus at the southern end of the Loch to Inverness to see a constant stream of tourists in the laybys enthusiastically snapping pictures of the iconic views.

So why no decent images ?

Waves, Logs, Debris and Boats

Oh sure each year there are spurious shots of waves, logs, debris and boats pronounced by the press and the less conscientious 'Monster hunters' to be of the mystery animal that is said to live in the deep dark waters of the Loch but always the images lack definition and often taken from far enough away to be impossible to distinguish as to what they actually are.

Recently there has been pictures of a tree root that is stuck in Urquhart Bay being touted as the monster, in fact Gary Campbell of the "Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register" gave the image his seal of approval. An excerpt from his website is below

11 June - Gloria & Ian Davison, visiting from Corbridge in Northumberland took the picture below at 13.34 from a point overlooking Urquhart Bay. They said that the sighting lasted about a minute and although there was heavy drizzle there was also very good visibility and no boats in the area.

The image is reproduced here

As a regular visitor to the Loch and in particular this area I know the tree root pictured above very well and I wonder to myself why Gary would post the image as a confirmed Nessie sighting ? Surely he would know what it was ? Especially as it has been there for a couple of years.

By coincidence earlier in 2019 back in May I had taken some pictures of the tree root mostly because it had been reported as Nessie once or maybe even twice before.

The Tree Root

Actually I've just found another example of the same tree root on Garys website, the excerpt is below

23 February - a visitor from Manchester took the picture below of something unexplained in Urquhart bay at 3.12pm . She said the dark coloured creature rose about 3 feet out of the water for about 10-15 seconds before disappearing back under the surface.

This pic has unbelievably been debated about as an actual legitimate monster pic over on this blog which is written by a well known loon who attempts to prove the existence of Nessie by writing endlessly long epitaphs on long known fake pictures.

I suppose it's no surprise that this obvious tree root was suggested as possibly legitimate evidence as the small band of Loch Ness literalists over there grasp at anything that could be used as evidence for Nessie.

Heres the pic can you spot the similarity ?

Its a different season and the light is different but its obviously the same tree root. Did Gary not notice ? I guess not.

Maybe it seemed reasonable that the tree root Nessie stayed in the same place for 4 or 5 months ?

Below are the pictures that I took of it in May 2019 when I was up at the Loch with my dog Oscar

Obviously I used a zoom lens so that it could be seen more clearly and below is a further zoomed in picture

A sighting which was videoed by Rory Cameron of Cobbs the bakery/hotel/coffee shop and brewery conglomerate is available here it shows something moving on the Loch very fast from a long distance away so the object creating the disturbance cannot be discerned from the video.

Recently there has been very fast Ribs being used on the Loch for tourist trips and judging from the speed it's moving at I think it's most likely one of those boats.

There is a black one which stands out but recently I saw a white or lighter coloured one that could well account for this video. Maybe Mr cameron didn't know about these boats as he is probably very busy running the Cobbs empire.

Heres an image I took of one of the boats back in May

Looks like fun!

Ricky Philips Aka 'The Bellend '

And then there was Ricky Philips "Famous Historian!" picture taken near the mouth of the River Oich much has been written about this image on other blogs here and Ricky even piped in himself with a mocked up Q and A which in light of his eventual uncovering makes him look like a total bellend and at least leaves me thinking that this guy has absolutely no credibility. Heres his strange Q and A

Here's his image

And heres the uncropped image that his associate sent in to the Water Horse Blog you can read all about it here

Why all the hullabaloo about a stick ? You would have to ask Ricky

So theres a few images above that have recently been put forward as Nessie theres none like the old classic images you will have to workout why for yourself.

Its been said that camera phones are pretty much useless for taking Nessie pics because of distance and image quality but at close range that logic could not be applied and there is actually a hell of a lot of people at the Loch with really good quality cameras.

In fact every layby seems to have someone snapping away with quality DSLRs but all we are presented with year on year is images like the ones here.
